    • Lodging taxes.
    • Bed taxes.

HelotStays may collect and remit certain occupancy taxes on your behalf in jurisdictions where we are registered. However, tax collection by HelotStays does not guarantee full tax compliance. Owners should verify their obligations with local authorities.

    • Filing all required tax returns with federal, state, and local authorities.

    4. Tax Form Requirements

Property owners may be required to provide tax identification information to HelotStays. HelotStays may issue tax forms (such as 1099 forms in the United States) reporting payments made to property owners as required by law.

It is your responsibility to report all income, regardless of whether you receive a tax form from HelotStays.

    5. Insurance Requirements

Property owners are responsible for maintaining adequate insurance coverage:

    • Property Insurance: Coverage for property damage and contents.
    • Liability Insurance: Coverage for guest injuries and property damage claims.
    • Short-Term Rental Endorsement: Many standard homeowner policies do not cover short-term rental activities. You may need a specific endorsement or commercial policy.

Verify with your insurance provider that your policy covers short-term rental use. HelotStays is not responsible for uninsured losses.

    6. Regulatory Changes

Short-term rental regulations change frequently. Property owners are responsible for staying informed about regulatory changes in their jurisdiction and adjusting their practices accordingly.

If regulations in your area change to prohibit or restrict short-term rentals, you must update your listing or notify HelotStays immediately.

Failure to comply with regulatory and tax obligations may result in:

    • Fines and penalties from government authorities.

    8. HelotStays' Role

HelotStays may assist with certain compliance matters but does not guarantee regulatory compliance. HelotStays may:
